Trophée is an off-site performance at the Château de Prangins. The show is promoted by the Usine à Gaz. Drummer Béatrice Graf sets the tempo for three characters. The title “Trophée” refers to the subjugation of women, nature and the other.
Trophée is a performance based on the themes of hunting, conquest and military tradition. To the tempo set by drummer Béatrice Graf, three figures dressed in sumptuous Baroque gowns cross a 300-metre-long field, bisected by a white barrier. Playing on this perspective, the figures become mourning women, stalking animals, soldiers or mythological figures. Trophée explores our relationship with our environment, our need to possess, tame and exploit.
The title of the work is a reference to the subjugation of women (trophy women), nature (hunting trophies) and others (war trophies) throughout history.
