A festival to inform, share and meet people
FIFAN returns to Nyon from 2 to 7 September 2025
The 14th edition of the Festival International du Film d'Archéologie de Nyon (FIFAN) will be held at the Usine à Gaz, with around thirty films, conferences and meetings, all open to the public. For six days, the festival invites visitors to discover the civilisations of the past through the eyes of archaeological cinema.
Immersive experiences, new for 2025!
This year FIFAN is inaugurating a new section dedicated to immersive experiences: virtual, augmented and extended reality. These technologies make it possible to bring to life vanished sites and societies, visit inaccessible places and immerse the public in the past. They also offer new ways of enhancing and protecting our heritage in the face of contemporary challenges such as climate change and urbanisation.
SuperFIFAN: a family event at the museum
To round off the 2025 edition of the festival, Sunday 7 September will be dedicated to families. SuperFIFAN invites you to the Roman Museum in Nyon for a screening of films on archaeology and history aimed at the very young. Come and discover works that are accessible to children and adults alike, followed by discussions and activities that invite you to explore our ancient heritage in a fun and participatory way.
A festival to inform, share and meet
Since 1999, the Roman Museum of Nyon has organised the Festival International du Film d'Archéologie de Nyon (FIFAN). In 13 editions, this free biennial event has become a must in Switzerland for fans of archaeological films. FIFAN's mission is to promote archaeology through high-quality films. As a bridge between archaeologists, film-makers and the general public, it explores the links between past and present, science and creation, encouraging dialogue and inviting reflection on the links between archaeology and contemporary issues.
