The mid-summer Feast in Saint-Cergue takes places yearly around mid-August and is open to the public. All the “armaillis”(shepherds) working in the area enjoy a convivial moment together in St-Cergue.
Since 1995, a team of volunteers decided to revive an ancient tradition, enabling the gathering of all armaillis who are alone on the pastures during the whole summer season, working long hours without a break. For them, this event is an occasion to come down to St-Cergue at least once during summer and enjoy a friendly moment with other shepherds and the public.
During this mid-summer fest, various animations are being organized, such as the “most beautiful” cow parade with price award, a pig race and an animated ball.
