Exhibition and opening reception for Daniel J. Yeomans at Galerie Esquisse in Nyon
Daniel James Yeomans, based in Founex, was born in England in 1986. He received his initial training in classical painting at Charles H. Cecil Studios in Florence. He then made a name for himself in the United Kingdom through several portrait commissions, where his mastery of oil painting was noted. In 2019, the National Library of Wales acquired one of his self-portraits, and another of his portraits was selected for the Jackson's Art Prize.
In 2021, Daniel Yeomans was elected a member of the Royal Cambrian Academy of Art.
In addition to his very classical portraits, his work has expanded in recent years to include sculpture and installations, combining classical painting with contemporary concepts.
The artist also works on numerous mountain views, often taken from hotel windows, such as the Schweizerhof in Flims or the Waldhaus in Sils. He has also produced views of lakes, including Lake Geneva.
