Percussion show and contemporary performance at the Usine à Gaz in Nyon
Part 1
Le Piquet is a hypnotic solo performance combining pole dancing, contemporary dance, acrobatics and visual arts. On a strange little planet, a helmeted character resembles an astronaut stranded on the surface of an arid land or a motorcyclist who has crashed in the middle of the desert. This castaway from the cosmos plays on clichés of heroic masculinity and aggressive space conquest in an illusory weightlessness.
David Zagari performs a magnetic and ultra-physical dance, bathed in subliminal light fluctuations, in a set designed by visual artist Lucie Lanzini.
Le Piquet is a contemplative delight of the highest order.
Part 2
The alter ego of drummer and performer Stéphane Vecchione, Eddy is a character halfway between a superhero burdened by his difference and a human reduced to his animal nature by his inability to speak the language of his peers. Eddy is irretrievably alone. Through the anti-conformist approach with which he uses his instrument, we can sense his anger, his hopes and his fears. His sound constructions, sometimes cathedral-like, sometimes heart-rending, sometimes disturbingly groovy, sometimes vertiginously vacuous, say a lot about the energies that their creator hides behind his mask, and perhaps also something about us.
