Rap concert with raw and sensitive lyrics at Les Hivernales
Emotions in stereo
The evening opens with Kemmler, a rapper from Marseille with raw and sensitive lyrics. Having come to prominence with the albums Rose, Gris Cœur, &MOI, and Alain, he has established himself as one of the most moving writers of his generation. His introspective rap, laced with doubts and emotions, speaks of love, friendship, but also failure. His skill with words has led him to collaborate with renowned peers such as Mosimann, Youssoupha, and Fianso. A jack of all trades, he recently created an eight-episode mini-series entitled Et si j'avais arrêté le rap? (What if I had given up rap?), which imagines the life he could have led if he had given up everything. On stage, his songs strike a chord with those who have faltered at some point in their lives, only to rise again stronger than ever.
The evening continues gently and intensely with arøne, a young Breton singer-songwriter whose mantra is simple: to make us cry while dancing. Alone at the piano, then at the machines, she first composed in her teenage bedroom, seeking to put her neuroses into words. A child of French rap as much as digital pop, she now crafts songs that are both fragile and proud, navigating between soaring melodies and R&B beats, while combining raw sincerity and melancholic elegance inherited from her idols Hannah Montana and Billie Eilish.
