VIVAG (Vivre ensemble à Gland), Pro Senectute, and the City of Gland present, as part of the “Ciné-Seniors” film series, the documentary Sur le Fil by Patrick Sumi.
A 5,200 km cycling journey from Lutry to the North Cape, featuring beautiful footage and a life story whose author sets the scene as follows:
“An executive in a multinational company, I had worked tirelessly to reach the position I wanted. But soon I was forced to lay off half my team. I poured all my energy into trying to save every job, until exhaustion.
The early signs of burnout gave me the strength to quit before collapsing completely. It was also the perfect opportunity to fulfill my dream: a 5,200 km bike trip from Lutry to the North Cape.
Sur le Fil revisits that moment of fragility and cycling wanderlust, from Switzerland to Norway, passing through Slovakia, Poland, the Baltic states, and the three Scandinavian countries.
Between spectacular landscapes, wild camping, and human encounters, the journey soon became a form of therapy — a hymn to reflection and an inner voyage.”
