The Cantabile Choir performs Franz von Suppè's Requiem
The Missa pro defunctis, Requiem by Franz von Suppè (1819-1895), Austrian composer of operas and operettas, but also symphonies, masses, string quartets and this Requiem.
The Cantabile Choir and its 80 choristers, conducted by Marius Marcu, have chosen to showcase this masterful yet little-known work, which transports choristers, instrumentalists, soloists and listeners alike between solemnity and contemplation in a song sprinkled with the most delicate inflections.
We will be accompanied by the Sinfonietta de Lausanne and four professional soloists, Catherine Rouard (soprano), Valérie Bonnard (mezzo-soprano), Baptiste Jondeau (tenor) and Sacha Michon (baritone).
