Lémancolie is an artistic and poetic adventure conceived and led by Héloïse Pocry
Inspired by Lake Geneva, its light and changing moods, this initiative explores the links between landscape, melancholy, memory and creation. The word ‘Lémancolie’ - between Lake Geneva and melancholy - suggests a gentle nostalgia, a contemplative look at the world, between wonder and confusion.
At the crossroads of painting, gestural calligraphy, cultural mediation and writing, Lémancolie offers sensitive visual works, as well as participatory projects: exhibitions, residencies, poetic audio guides, shows and workshops. Each gesture is conceived as an extension of the breath, each stroke as a trace of the lake.
Recent projects include eau-delà, a performance combining abstract painting and contemporary dance (in collaboration with PETTIT*ROCHET / Marchepied Cie), and Choréogrammes, a visual and scenic exploration to be presented in Gland in autumn 2024. Héloïse Pocry also runs travel writing and painting workshops in Vevey and Nyon.
Lémancolie invites us to slow down, to feel, to create - to listen carefully to the landscape and to ourselves.
