Feminist concert and engaged
For a year, artist Jeanne Spaeter was in a loving relationship with Mike, a man she had never met before. This relationship was governed by a contract comprising 14 clauses, which determined, for example, the number of hours spent together, nights spent together, sexual relations, declarations of love, gestures of tenderness, etc. These 365 days were fully documented through diaries, memorabilia, photos, videos and regular posts on Instagram.
By bringing this real-life experience to the stage, Amour sous Contrat offers us a journey into the intimate legacy of an ideal couple. The performance challenges the mystical and romantic vision of love. Honestly and from a feminist perspective, our love relationships and the norms that govern them are laid bare in a collective open-heart operation.
