A funny and poetic dance show for children
A thousand billion stories
Bachibouzouk! It was one of Captain Haddock's favourite insults, and now it's the title of a show for young audiences by Philippe Saire. Three boys set off on an adventure, creating ephemeral worlds that rise up and then collapse immediately. They stumble, laugh, engage in imaginary battles, get back up, always reckless, like the ‘bracaillons’ mercenaries of the Ottoman Empire, the Bachibouzouk. On stage, tarpaulins become landscapes, animals or fantastical characters as the stories unfold. They serve as providential projection screens for the imagination. On this playground of infinite possibilities, bodies trace epic tales guided by pleasure. Bachibouzouk is a playful and poetic fable that celebrates friendship, daring and the joy of creating together... a thousand billion thousand stories!
‘A show that is funny, poetic and clever, which perfectly succeeds in bringing contemporary dance to children.’ 24 Heures – Caroline Rieder
