Comic and historical play
Humor, Art, and Politics
"La Colère du Tigre" (The Tiger's Wrath) tells the story of the friendship between Georges Clemenceau and Claude Monet, and the birth of an eternal masterpiece: The Nymphéas.
This historical comedy by Philippe Madral plunges into the little-known backdrop of an episode from the early 20th century: how Georges Clemenceau, the statesman nicknamed "the Tiger," saved Claude Monet's famous Nympheas from oblivion. Thanks to him, these monumental canvases, which have become emblems of Impressionism, today grace the Musée de l'Orangerie in Paris.
Directed by Thierry Piguet and starring Jean-Pierre Gos and Caroline Cons, the play oscillates between hilarity and emotion. It unveils the unwavering friendship of two stubborn "old kids," while also exploring the love and intimate flaws that surround them. A vivid and endearing fresco that creates a dialogue between History, art, and human passions with
Jean-Pierre Gos as Claude Monet
Caroline Cons as Marguerite Baldensperger
Daniel Nasr as Georges Clémenceau
Sonia Muller as Clotilde
