Aug 22, 2025 - Aug 31, 2025
The Variations Musicales de Tannay welcomes you from 22 to 31 August for the 2025 edition.
A foretaste of the programme
This will be an edition of discoveries. Huge artists, as in previous editions, but many of them performing for the first time in the Lake Geneva region.
The full programme will be revealed in March 2025, but here's a sneak preview:
- Martha Argerich and Tedi Papavrami will open the festival with a programme of sonatas.
- The closing concert will feature symphonies and concertos by Haydn\, Bach and Mozart\, with soloist and conductor François Leleux and the Potsdam Academy Chamber Orchestra.
- A common thread running through this edition: great female pianists. Four of them\, representing four generations\, will punctuate the festival. Regulars at the world's most prestigious concert halls and winners of prestigious prizes\, let us surprise you by starting with the youngest\, Arielle Beck\, who will only be 16 but already has the stature of an exceptional artist.
- Four ensembles will be taking to the stage. Among them\, the young musicians of the Queen Elisabeth Royal Chapel.
- For the first time\, an evening will be devoted to ensemble vocal art\, with German Lieder and French melodies by Schumann\, Fauré\, Schubert and Debussy...
- Another thread running through this year's programme is the next generation of musicians. We'll be showcasing young talent from the ages of 10 to 14 (at the Family Concert)\, then 18 to 23\, and finally 20 to 30\, as we take you through the different stages in the musicians' development. Up-and-coming musicians from the Lake Geneva region will be represented by a morning concert given by students from the two Hautes Écoles de Musique in Lausanne and Geneva-Neuchâtel.
- Finally\, a show combining classical music and cabaret based on an excursion into neuroscience\, demonstrating the effects of music on our brains and our emotions\, will enliven a morning aimed at audiences wishing to better understand their relationship with music and its benefits.
- And to ensure that the quality of the guest artists can be fully appreciated\, the marquee set up in the grounds of the Château de Tannay to host the concerts will be undergoing a number of acoustic improvements.
