Measured at 1,528 m above sea level in the heart of the Jura Vaudois Nature Park. This place is one of the favourite spots for hikers, during the summer season, who then continue on their way to the summit of La Dôle.
Depending on the weather, hikers and nature lovers can admire exceptional panoramic views with an added bonus of a magnificent view of Mont-Blanc.
The “Restaurant de la Barillette” also welcomes hikers for regional specialities such as fondue, entrecôte, from May to October.
Perched at the top is also the emblematic antenna of “La Barillette” which has dominated Lake Geneva since the fifties.
“La Barillette” mountain bike race is one of the most popular sporting events of the calendar (August). The race takes place from Chéserex and arrives at the summit.
Access on foot from the Village of St-Cergue (walking time approx. 1h30).
Access by car from the villages of Gingins, Chéserex and La Rippe (road closed in winter).
