A day between Castle & Wineyard

Discover the Castle of Prangins and the wineyard of the region !

In the morning, a driver will pick you up in Nyon.

Departure to the Swiss National Museum in the Château de Prangins. Built in the 18th century by Louis Guiguer, a Swiss banker based in Paris, Château de Prangins has welcomed illustrious figures such as Voltaire and Joseph Bonaparte to its walls. Overlooking Lake Geneva, this beautiful building, classified as a historic monument, now houses the Swiss National Museum. This real castle-museum seduces with its classical architecture, its adjoining rooms and its French-style park. The permanent exhibitions are of great interest and are undoubtedly worth a visit. See in particular "Noblesse oblige! Castle life in the 18th century" and the old-fashioned vegetable garden, the largest in Switzerland with its interpretation centre open all year round.

Once the visit is over, head for the Luins Inn for lunch. On the menu, a regional speciality, the Malakoffs!

In the afternoon, visit a cellar and wine tasting in a domain of your choice. The La Côte region represents more than half of the wine-growing area of the Vaud region (52.4%), and has no less than 12 production sites. As such, it produces a large proportion of the Canton's white wines, including the famous Chasselas, as well as local specialities such as Chardonnay, Pinot gris, Sauvignon Blanc and Doral. The territory also produces half of the red wines of the Vaud region, such as Pinot Noir, Gamay, Gamaret and Garanoir, two indigenous grape varieties.

In the late afternoon, return to Nyon.
