Just 20 km from the lakeshore town of Nyon, Saint-Cergue (1,041 m) is a family resort which is home to a sled dog breeder. In winter, special trails are prepared for sled dog drivers, while the public can enjoy trips or have an introduction to the sport.
When the sled dogs begin their race, we travel with them to the great snow-covered expanses. The landscape of Saint-Cergue, in the Vaudois Jura Regional Park, lends itself to these Nordic dreams. Here, huskies feel at home, transporting visitors into their unspoilt world.
For a unique experience, in communion with nature and animals, Team Nature organises different activities in Saint-Cergue. 1, 2 ½ or 5 km dog sled rides offer an original way to discover the region, there’s a one-hour introductory session for curious visitors who want to learn how to drive their own team of dogs and the more energetic can opt for a snow-shoe hike with a guide and his dog (1 ½ hrs, half-day or full day). These activities are so popular, it’s a good idea to plan well in advance!
