The 'Tour de la Dôle', a unique circular hike with wonderful landscapes, meadows and forests as well as views of Lake Geneva region and the Alps.
The tour starts at the St-Cergue train station and leads up to a plateau where you can enjoy the view for the first time. The tour continues past the old castle ruins and through the forest with its beautiful plants and good flavours. Afterwords go down a little towards the only restaurant on your way and a panoramic view on the terrace of La Barillette. After the restaurant, it's time to cross pastures and go up the ridge to the peak of La Dôle, where a breathtaking panoramic view over the entire Lake Geneva region and the Alps awaits you. On 26 October 1779, during his journey to Geneva, Goethe climbed up here and wrote the following, with which we can only agree: "There are no words for the greatness and beauty of this view". From the summit you can hike down to the railway station of La Givrine and take the train back to St-Cergue.
