Prangins - Theatre and show
In this show, classical, popular and scholarly music blend and intermingle to form a twirling melodic line where dance is naturally integrated. Isabelle Meyer, the choreographer Julio Arozarena, the dancers and the Ensemble Art-en-Ciel revisit the genre of the comedy-ballet and propose to rediscover the only true language which, beyond traditions, cultures and continents, speaks to the heart of man: that of emotion.
Isabelle Meyer is a virtuoso soloist who comes from a tradition inherited from the great violin masters. She is the first woman violinist of the young generation to innovate in the world of classical music, where she blends different arts and different artists with happiness. She performs in her own creations: the Art-en-Ciel concert-spectacles. She has already collaborated with the astrophysicist Hubert Reeves, the writer and philosopher Luc Ferry, the radio host Frédéric Lodéon, the composer Sylvis Courvoisier and the clarinettist Michel Lethiec. In this new show, the idea is to go in search of the wild and spontaneous dimension of music and dance through the many folklores in Europe. And to create a bridge between classical music and hip-hop dance, between the bewitching violin and the urban dance of the black and Latin ghettos. A real pas de deux is played out between dance and violin. In the seventeenth century, at court balls, the violin was played by the dancing master. Little by little, the popular violin became civilised, and the music went from being rustic to aristocratic. As for hip-hop culture, born in New York in the 1970s, it is not limited to dance: rap, graffiti and deejaying are also part of this cultural movement whose founding values are peace, unity and fun. Let's not forget that it remains above all a way for artists to express themselves and to escape.
