Bach's Magnificat - L'ensemble vocal du Prieuré - L'ensemble vocal Fratres
ach's Magnificat, despite its relative brevity, is a major work by the Cantor, composed while he was based in Leipzig. Written for five voices, with five soloists and an orchestra in which brass plays an important role, this work is a striking illustration of Mary's prophetic canticle. With Mélanie Gavant (soprano). Maximillianos Banos (countertenor), Patrick Porchet (tenor), Stéphan Imboden (bass) and conducted by Daniel Meylan.
