" Le nom des choses - La bocca della luna" a performance by Muriel Imbach presented at L'Usine à Gaz in Nyon.

"Why is a table called a table and not a schling? And if it were called a schling, would it still be used to eat around?" In Le Nom des choses, Muriel Imbach, director and artist associated with the Usine à Gaz, wishes to play with her art of staging based on this fundamental question: what is the relationship between the names of things and their realities? For a child, discovering the world also means being able to name things. And vice versa! This creation was developed in a singular, specific work dynamic. La Bocca Della Luna, combining mediation, theatre and philosophy with children. The documentary research of the entire artistic team is made up of interviews with children, meetings with philosophers and linguists and forms a heterogeneous material that served as a starting point for the show. In a playful, airy and transformable scenography, Muriel Imbach poetises a reflection on language at the level of children and adults.
